The winners of the inaugural American Manga Awards had been introduced on August 22, 2024 on the Japan Society’s Lila Acheson Wallace Auditorium.

The American Manga Awards purpose to acknowledge and honor manga creators, tales, and the publishers who convey these tales to readers within the US and Canada.

Awards had been introduced in a number of classes, together with Greatest New Manga, Greatest Ongoing Manga Sequence, Greatest New Version of Traditional Manga Sequence, Greatest Translation, Greatest Lettering, and Greatest Publication Design.

As well as, Frederik L. Schodt, the translator and creator of Manga! Manga! The World of Japanese Comics, was honored with the Manga Publishing Corridor of Fame award.

The American Manga Awards had been organized by Japan Society and Anime NYC, with Deb Aoki, recognized for her work with Publishers Weekly and Comics Beat, as chair of the planning committee. The occasion was hosted by Matt Alt, a translator and creator who can be an awards decide.
