If there’s one studio that has graced the silver display screen with worlds that really feel alive, it is Ghibli. Simply take a look at the kitchen and eating scenes in films like My neighbor Totoro, Whisper of the gutsAnd fortress within the air. So when the Expo 2005 in Aichi recreated Satsuki and Mei’s home Stretch, the builders have spared no particulars. Almost twenty years later, the home is now a part of Ghibli Park, and this week the park exhibits simply how far the builders went:

Yesterday, when the park was closed, the employees lit a fireplace within the range at Satsuki and Mei’s home to cook dinner rice and a Choshu bathtub.
