The Call of the Night anime adaptation premiered in 2022, and now even more is officially in the works. Call of the Night The plans for season 2 were revealed at the Fuji TV Anime Lineup Press Conference 2024 event, where the news was combined with a video and teaser. The Call of the Night anime is directed by Tomoyuki Itamura, along with main director Tetsuya Miyanishi, who previously worked on this series Josee, The tiger and the fish. The scripts were written by Michiko Yokote of Bleach and Cowboy Bebop. The character design is by Haruka Sagawa Nice days.
The original manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in the summer of 2019. In Japan, the compiled volumes are published by Shogakukan. VIZ media releases the manga in English and gave this description of it:
